There are so many things about Katie and Connors story that reminds me how wonderful young love is. In many ways they remind us of our love story. Katie and Connor went to high school together, and they are very passionate about their love. It is such a cliche to be passionately in love, but here we are 16 years into a love that doesn’t stop for anything, and we see that in Katie and Connor. Connor proposed on what has to be the day that more lucky ladies say “yes” than any other day, a special day for Arizonan’s Feb 14th. You know it as Arizona’s birthday, but apparently it also happens to be Valentines Day.
When Katie contacted us about an engagement session we were thrilled. We not only love to celebrate with awesome people the love that they found, but she started speaking our creative and photography love language. We landed on a desert shoot out by the gorgeous South Mountain preserve, which was amazing. Katie wore a beautifully unique lace dress and rustic booties, both Free People, and Connor didn’t disappoint either. He rocked some black denim jeans, a simple Levi’s denim top, and some super chill boots.
Throughout the entire shoot, Connor looked adoringly at his bride to be, watching her every move, never letting her more than just an arms length away. It was easy to see that he not only cares deeply for Katie, but that he can’t wait for a chance to hold her again. It’s never ceases to amaze me that we have the opportunity to photograph such wild and free love stories, like theirs.
Not everyone is as passionate Katie and Connor, or Field and me, and that is definitely okay. But it is that sense of wild “together we can do anything, as long as we are together” love, is something that drives us. It is a driving force in our marriage, our everyday being, and I truly hope that Katie and Connor are able to find that everyday from now until death they do part.
